About this eBook

In writing this guide I have tried to make it relevant to as wide a section of the population, from the layman to the professional, as possible. The biggest fear is that by covering such vast expanses of information I have failed one group or the other. If so, I apologize.

Because the book is formatted in HTML and displayed in a browser window there are no pages per se. Technically each chapter, even if it’s 10,000 words long, is considered a single page. It’s easiest to navigate from the Master Index or from the Table of Contents of the particular section. Just select a chapter by clicking on it. At the end of each chapter there is a return link that will take you to the next chapter.

Having said all that, I must also mention that the qualifications and craftsmanship abilities of each individual reader are beyond the control of the author and therefore the author disclaims all liability incurred in connection with the use of information contained in this book.  At no time should you consider this guide to be a replacement for a qualified engineer or contractor. Thge author assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions in this guide. Nor should you construe that he is offering the advice in this guide in the capacity of an engineer or general contractor.
